This trek is a terrific option for those who want to experience the beauty and wonder of arriving 
to the Inca´s lost city of Machu Picchu over the traditional Inca Trail, 
but have less time or physical ability to do one of the more extended treks. 
On our first day we take a lovely hike to the archeological complex of Wiñay Wayna,
then follow the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After spending the night in Aguas Calientes, 
the village just under Machu Picchu,
we have the entire second day to explore the ruins of the Inca.

Machu Picchu is said to have been discovered by Hiram Bingham, who was actually just the excavator and marketer of this beautiful place (while he was really looking for the mysterious ruins of Vilcabamba), while the local People had known of Machu Picchu´s existence all the time.

Distance: 12 Kilometers / 7.5 Miles
We take the early morning-train from Cusco through the picturesque Sacred Valley to K104, 
where we´ll enter the trail. Our hike continues gently upward for approximately four hours until we reach the beautifully situated Inca complex of Winay Wayna, 
where we stop to eat a nutritious and plentiful bag lunch. 
Sub-tropical flora and fauna surround us as we continue 2 hours to the Sun Gate, 
from where we see Machu Picchu. We walk down past the majestic ruins, 
and then take the bus to Aguas Calientes to spend a relaxing night in a comfortable hostal. 

After an early rise and breakfast, we´ll take the short bus-ride up to the Machu Picchu complex,
where we will tour the amazing architecture and mysterious temples left by the Incas. 
A professional, English-speaking guide will help us understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly-advanced culture.  Once the official tour will be completed, 
we will have plenty of time to explore the Sanctuary on our own, 
before returning to Cusco by train in the afternoon.
