                                                                                            Machu Picchu by car & bike (Inca Jungle), 4days/3nights

                                                                                            This experience is almost the same as `Machu Picchu by car´, except, 
                                                                                            that we will be biking (all downhill) from Abra Malaga (4,200m.a.s.l.) 
                                                                                            to the small village of Alfamayo (2,500m.a.s.l.), 
                                                                                            where we will continue our way to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, 
                                                                                            by bus, taxi, and then combi, to be followed by the same beautiful 2-hours walk through nature 
                                                                                            (as in the `by car´ experience). 
                                                                                            Machu Picchu, of which still many secrets remain hidden, is said to have been discovered by Hiram Bingham, 
                                                                                            who was actually just the excavator and marketer of this beautiful place (while he was really looking for the mysterious ruins of Vilcabamba), while the local People had known of Machu Picchu´s existence all the time.

                                                                                            Experience the beauty and majesty of the mountain-and jungle-regions, 
                                                                                            while learning about the history of the royal Incas.
                                                                                            This adventure is a combination of biking and some walking, 
                                                                                            for sports-enthusiasts and others who´d like to enjoy a wonderful energetic Peruvian adventure. 

                                                                                            Machu Picchu day 1: Cusco – Malaga-pass - Santa María

                                                                                            You will be collected from your hotel at 7:30 am, to travel in a private bus to Abra Malaga. 
                                                                                            There, we will start our mountain-bike circuit, until reaching the village of Santa Maria. 
                                                                                            In this route, we will see archaeological sites, 
                                                                                            such as Huamanmarca and Inca Prison, as well as big changes in the landscape/climate, 
                                                                                            or today we bike from 4,200m.a.s.l. (mountain-area), down to 2,200m.a.s.l.. 

                                                                                            On the way we will see different types of Birds, medicinal Plants, 
                                                                                            Snakes (maybe), Butterflies and exotic fruits, 
                                                                                            like Passion Fruit, Papaya, Avocado, Mandarin, 
                                                                                            Oranges and Bananas, Coffee and Coca. In some occasions, 
                                                                                            we’ll be able to pick some of those fruits, to try them as fresh as you can get! 
                                                                                            We will ba able to visit local families, busy with their daily routine. 

                                                                                            Machu Picchu day 2: Santa María - Santa Teresa

                                                                                            We will wake up at 5:30 am, shake off our weary limbs, 
                                                                                            and enjoy the finest indigenous Coffee at breakfast, which we’ll have at 6:00am. 
                                                                                            Then, we will begin our walk, which gets progressively steeper, 
                                                                                            until arriving at the welcoming family restaurant in Santa Rosa, where we will rest for a bit, and be able to refresh ourselves. 
                                                                                            After a short while, we will reach the real Inca Trail, 
                                                                                            which winds around precipitous slopes for approximately half a mile. 
                                                                                            This is not for people who suffer from vertigo! 
                                                                                            The descent continues for just over two hours until you reach Qellomayo, 
                                                                                            where you will have lunch. After lunch we will continue until Santa Teresa, where we`ll stay for the night. 

                                                                                            Machu Picchu day 3: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes

                                                                                            We will wake up at 7:00am, have breakfast, and take our private transport to Lucmabamba, 
                                                                                            the entrance to another Inca Trail, which was discovered just a few years ago. 
                                                                                            You will be rewarded for your efforts with a view of Machu Picchu from the top of Llactapata, 
                                                                                            flanked by the gigantic peak of Salkantay.
                                                                                             Your picnic here is unlikely to be forgotten easily. 
                                                                                            It is only about a two hour walk down to the hydro-electric train-station, where the train to Aguas Calientes departs.
                                                                                            Included is the dinner, which we’ll enjoy at a local restaurant, 
                                                                                            before retiring to your hostel with hot water and private bathrooms. 

                                                                                            Machu Picchu day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu  - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

                                                                                            An early rise today, as you will take the first bus to Machu Picchu at 5:30am, reaching Machu Picchu at 6:00, which with luck will coincide with a beautiful Sunrise! 
                                                                                            Your guide will tell you everything he knows about the lost city. Afterwards you’ll have free time 
                                                                                            to investigate for yourself, walk around and enjoy this beautiful place. 
                                                                                            Those who still have the will can climb up to Huayna Picchu, 
                                                                                            which looks down on Machu Picchu. After our visit, 
                                                                                            the continuous bus-service will take us back down to Aguas Calientes,
                                                                                             where you will catch the train to Ollantaytambo, and then the bus, to Cusco.
