Inca Trail is the name, that’s always used for the traditional track (being a true Inca trail),
which leads to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.
This beautiful trail, with all its special sites underway,
is VERY popular, and also very commercial.
The reflection hereof, we see in the price of this experience.
Nowadays, many more options to visit Machu Picchu are available,
some just being more economic, others being very beautiful, as well.
However, we have to admit, that it really has a special feel to it, to walk over the original Inca path.
Machu Picchu was always quite mysterious, and until this day, this beautiful place has many secrets to it. An interesting fact is, though, that the excavator and promoter of this Inca city, Hiram Bingham, was actually searching for the very special remains of Vilcabamba, which you can also visit, now, but are far less commercialized.
                                                                                            Enjoy!
