                                                                                            Inca Trail, 4 days/3nights

                                                                                            Inca Trail is the name, that’s always used for the traditional track (being a true Inca trail), 
                                                                                            which leads to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. 
                                                                                            This beautiful trail, with all it’s special sites underway, 
                                                                                            is VERY popular, and also very commercial. The reflection hereof, 
                                                                                            we see in the price of this experience. 
                                                                                            Nowadays, many more options to visit Machu Picchu are available, 
                                                                                            some just being more economic, others being very beautiful, as well. 

                                                                                            However, we have to admit, that it really has a special feel to it, to walk over the original Inca path. 
                                                                                            Enjoy.

                                                                                            Inca Trail day 1: Cusco – Inca Trail (km82) – campsite 1

                                                                                            After your breakfast, we will pick you up at your hostel, 
                                                                                            between 6:00h and 6:30h. 
                                                                                            We will take a bus until km. 82, from where the long walk begins. 
                                                                                            Along the way, in the distance, 
                                                                                            we will be able to see the archaeological site of Llactapata. 

                                                                                            Inca Trail day 2: campsite 1 – Warmi Wañusca – Pacaymayo (campsite 2)

                                                                                            We will have breakfast at 6:00h, right after which we’ll start our walk. 
                                                                                            We will be able to observe the beautiful and calm landscape of the Inca Trail, 
                                                                                            feeling the climate change, while
                                                                                            ascending to the highest point of the hike (approx. 4,200m.a.s.l.), 
                                                                                            called Warmi Wañusca (Dead Woman). 
                                                                                            Here, we will rest for a few minutes, after which we will descend, 
                                                                                            having lunch along the way. 
                                                                                            Then, we will continue walking until our second camp-site, named Pacaymayo, 
                                                                                                                                                          where we’ll be arriving at 19:00h or 20:00h, 
                                                                                                                                                          and where we will have dinner and our overnight. 


                                                                                            Inca Trail day 3: Pacaymayo – ruins – Wiñay Wayna (camp 3)

                                                                                            We will get up around 7, and our cooks will prepare a delicious breakfast. 
                                                                                            After this, we will continue our walk. This day is special, 
                                                                                            because we will visit the archaeological groups of Runcuracay, Sayacmarca, and Phuyupatamarca. 
                                                                                            We will have lunch on the way. 
                                                                                            Probably, the third camping will be in Phuyupatamarca or Wiñay Wayna 
                                                                                            (depending on the spaces that the Inrena booking-office grants us. 


                                                                                            Inca Trail day 4: Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo - Cusco

                                                                                            Today, we will get up very early, between 3:00h and 4:00h in the morning. 
                                                                                            After our breakfast, we’ll begin with the ultimate part of the hike, 
                                                                                            arriving at Inti Punku (Sun Gate) from where we will be able to observe, at last, Machu Picchu! 
                                                                                            We will arrive there, approximately, at 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning. 
                                                                                            After a short break, we will enter the sanctuary, 
                                                                                            and have a guided visit of approximately 2 hours, to both enjoy the beauty and mystery of Machu Picchu. 
                                                                                            Afterwards, you will have some free time, to walk around, 
                                                                                            investigate, take pictures or just enjoy this beautifplace. 
                                                                                            However, take care, to get to Aguas Calientes on time, 
                                                                                            to take your return-train, to Ollantaytambo. 
                                                                                            If you descend on foot, which ‘d lead you over a really nice track, 
                                                                                            we recommend you to start walking, about 2 hours before your train will depart. 
                                                                                            If you’d go by bus, then 1 hour will be sufficient. 
                                                                                            Once there, the bus will take you to Cusco city.
