Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, was revealed to the World since 1911, for before, 
it was covered under jungle. The local people, 
who knew of the ruins, believed it to be haunted (probably true, at the time), and almost did not go there. 
It was excavated and marketed by Hiram Bingham, 
who had actually been trying to find the mysterious remains of Vilcabamba.

Today still, by far not all secrets of this place are explained, and also, each time, 
more remains are discovered, closeby. 

Nowadays, this highly beautiful site is visited by a great number of people, under whom antropologists, biologists, historians, documentarists, mysticists, architects, archeologists, etcetera...and, off course, many tourists.
