The floating islands of ‘The Uros’ lay in the Titicaca Lake, which is on the altitude of 3,812m.a.s.l.. 
We find the islands at 10km from Puno’s harbour (journey of 30 minutes). 
About 600 People live here. 
The Uros form an archipel of more than 40 islands, 
each one habituated, according to its’ size, by 2, 5, 15 or 30 families. 
These islands (as well as the boats) are constructed of pure Totora-reeds, 
by their own inhabitants. 
This reed also serves as a food. 
During half a day, you can enjoy their culture, 
visit the families, and be surprised by their skills in working Totora. 

We’ll depart from Puno’s harbour at about 9:20h, to travel in approx. 30 min. to the floating islands, 
where we’ll enjoy a 2 to 3 hour visit, after which we will return to Puno, 
to take you to your hostel, where you will arrive at about lunch-time.
