The last Incas once fled to Vilcabamba, after which they disappeared out of eyesight,
leaving many legends behind, to be told.
After that, you´ll experience the ecovillage of Khomanta K´ancha in Madre Selva, where the legend continues! Some aspects in mystery, and others out in the open.
Here, you’ll see much about how we can live in harmony with a virgin environment like this,
being an initiative for the future! You’ll learn something about basic permaculture,
Bee-keeping, powerful nutrition, and a quick and highly effective way to get into shape,
enjoying a stay at a beautiful place.
That all makes this tour a real time-travel!
You will have the option to stay at the ecovillage longer,
learning much more about the mentioned aspects, according to your choice!

Vilcabamba day 1: Cusco – Chaullay - Vilcabamba
After your breakfast at 6:30h, we’ll meet up to take the bus,
into the direction of Quillabamba.
We will pass Urubamba and Ollantaytambo,
and then continue up a winding road in the direction of the "Malaga-Pass",
which stands at an altitude of 4,316m.a.s.l..
From that point, we will see some of the most amazing landscapes that Peru has to offer.
Driving over the highest point, we will begin our descent into the sub-tropical region of the jungle,
passing through different micro-climates,
that combine the paradisiacal landscapes of the majestic snow-capped peaks with the hot,
tropical entrance to the jungle.
We will see lots of gorgeous landscapes all the way down.
We’ll arrive at the bridge of Chaullay at approx. 13:30h,
where we’ll get off the bus, take time to enjoy our lunch, and take a taxi to Vilcabamba.
There, we’ll be arriving at about 17:30h where we’ll have dinner,
and camp for the night.

Vilcabamba day 2: Visits to the sites of Rosaspata,
Ñusta Hispana & Espíritu Pampa
Today, we’ll have breakfast at 6:00h, after which we’ll have a guided tour of approx. 2.5 hours, through the archeological sites of Rosaspata, Ñusta Hispana and Espíritu Pampa.
At about 13:00h, we’ll arrive in Quillabamba, where we’ll,
after leaving our luggage at the hostel, enjoy lunch.
After lunch, we’ll visit the typical zoo, just out of town.
This zoo consists of resqued animals of th region,
and the entrance-fees are, apart from the animals’ food,
invested in a new, spacious park for them.
At about 13:00h, we’ll arrive in Quillabamba, where we’ll,
after leaving our luggage at the hostel, enjoy lunch.

Today, after having our breakfast at 7:00h,
we’ll be taking a taxi to Madre Selva,
where we’ll have a 2-hours’ walk to the ecovillage of Khomanta Kancha,
where we’ll arrive at about 11:00h.
Here, we’ll explain everything about the initiative,
presenting you to the people who are present at that moment,
showing you the way we work there,
showing you some principles of permaculture, and what will have been managed until this moment.
Also, we’ll have a few hours to work together, in garden,
house or kitchen, this being part of the exchange for being in this beautiful place,
to help the initiative a little. Of course, we’ll enjoy lunch,
dinner and a good night’s rest here.

After having breakfast at 6:00h, we’ll take time to go to the Bees,
to show you how we work with them,
explaining the basics of the wonderful World of Bee-keeping, including all the great products they make.
This is a very important aspect in preserving our planet.
Until lunch, we’ll be doing some work, either with the Bees,
or whatever will be necessary, and liked by you.
On a Sunny moment, probably after lunch,
we have the option to enjoy a bath in the river Sambaray, or at the waterfall of Kusimayu.
After some time of relaxing, it will be time for dinner.
And after dinner, if you like,
we can take some time to tell you really happened ghost-stories!
to show you how we work with them,

Enjoying our breakfast at 7:00h, we’ll take a few hours,
to go through the important basics of a very modern and effective course in nutrition.
Either before or after lunch, at a moment of Sun,
we’ll go to the Bebe-waterfalls, very closeby, where we can enjoy a bath.
Also today, after some time of relaxing, it will be time for our dinner.

Vilcabamba day 6: Khomanta Kancha ecovillage – Quillabamba - Cusco
At 6:00h we’ll have the option to go through the very simple exercises of Wu Dang-fitness,
which is a very effective whole-body work-out, which you’ll come to know tomorrow.
After this, we’ll enjoy our last 7:00h breakfast.
Finishing breakfast, we’ll have time to do some work,
bathe in 1 of the rivers, and pack our things.
At about 10:00h, we’ll be heading down for Quillabamba again,
where we’ll have lunch (not included), before you take the bus,
back to Cusco. You could choose to get some food,
to have dinner underway, for the bus doesn’t always stop for that. You’ll arrive in Cusco at about 22:00h.
