Inca Trail day 1: Cusco – Inca Trail (km82) – campsite 1

Inca Trail, day 1, Cusco, Peru
After your breakfast, we will pick you up at your hostel in Cusco, between 6:00 and 6:30, driving through the Sacred Valley to a point close to Ollantaytambo, called km 82, from where the long walk begins. Along the way, in the distance, we will be able to see the archaeological site of Llactapata.
Inca Trail day 2:
campsite 1 – Warmi Wañusca – Pacaymayo (campsite 2)

Inca Trail, day 2, Cusco, Peru
We will have breakfast at 6:00, right after which we'll start our walk.
We will be able to observe the beautiful and calm landscape of the Inca Trail,
feeling the climate change, while ascending to the highest point of the hike (approx. 4,200m), called Warmi Wañusca (Dead Woman). Here, we will rest for a few minutes, after which we will descend, having lunch along the way. Then, we will continue walking until our second camp-site, named Pacaymayo, where we'll be arriving at 19:00 or 20:00, and where we will have dinner and our overnight.

Inca Trail day 3: Pacaymayo – ruins – Wiñay Wayna (camp 3)

Wiñay Wayna, Inca Trail day 3, Cusco, Peru
We will get up around 7, and our cooks will prepare a delicious breakfast.
After this, we will continue our walk. This day is special, because we will visit the archaeological groups of Runcuracay, Sayacmarca, and Phuyupatamarca.
We will have lunch on the way. Probably, the third camping will be in Phuyupatamarca or Wiñay Wayna (depending on the spaces that the national booking-office grants us).

Inca Trail day 4: Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Machu Picchu, Cusco, Peru
Today, we will get up very early, between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning. After our breakfast, we'll begin with the ultimate part of the hike, arriving at Inti Punku (Sun Gate) from where we will be able to observe, at last, Machu Picchu! We will arrive there, approximately, at 7:00 / 8:00 in the morning. After a short break, we will enter the sanctuary, and have a guided visit of approximately 2 hours, to both enjoy the beauty and mystery of Machu Picchu.
Afterwards, you will have some free time, to walk around, investigate, take pictures or just enjoy this beautiful place. However, take care, to get to Aguas Calientes on time, to take your return-train, to Ollantaytambo. If you descend on foot, which we'd lead you over a really nice track, we recommend you to start walking, about 2 hours before your train will depart. If you'd go by bus, then 1 hour will be sufficient. Once there, the bus will take you to Cusco city.

The trek unforgettable, spectacular, sensational, gruelling, a great trek with great info & views. The food was great the whole way. The porters amazing, obviously cooks terrific, and I could not speak more highly of the guides who were always helpful,
polite and correct. So thank you Sweet Travel Peru, for for having me on the trek, it was a privilege and a pleasure: hard walking to make it to Machu Picchu :) . John, Australia, family of 4.
